Please note: Only the latest version of the Skype for Business 2016 client is supported, earlier versions will continue to function as before.
Skype for Business 2015 or Lync 2013 Clients starting with version number 15.xxx do NOT support this method of sign in.
Currently, when you attempt to sign into Skype for Business, the application prompts for your password within the application, as below.
From February 2017, a web browser will open and prompt you for your credentials.
N.B. These are exactly the same credentials you currently use for Skype for Business.
If a user has forgotten their password, they can now reset the password directly from the sign in page, helping to reduce your internal IT helpdesk tickets for forgotten Skype for Business passwords.
